NEW ORLEANS, La. — Mike Detillier, the longtime sports radio host and highly respected NFL and college football analyst, has died at the age of 65.

WWL Radio announced Detillier’s passing, prompting an outpouring of tributes from the New Orleans Saints, football fans and members of the Louisiana sports community who knew him for decades of coverage and analysis.

Detillier was reportedly diagnosed with terminal cancer just two weeks before his death. His passing marks the end of a long career in sports broadcasting during which he became a familiar and trusted voice for football fans throughout Louisiana.
